Unbelievable 60s / 70’s sun-soaked gem paying homage to the lost craft of hand-colored photographs.
Often referred to as hand-tinting or over-painting, this method was developed in the mid-1800s as a way to add realism and accentuate photographs with a spectrum of hues that weren’t available as color photography wasn’t introduced until the mid-20th century. 🎞️
Photographs would often be over-painted with the following, but not limited to pastels, crayons, oil paints, and in the case of this floral baby, watercolors.
